Beets Hospitality Group, an event and catering company in Pleasanton, California, knew that they needed to invest in upgrading their HVAC equipment. But, as all business owners know, you often must make tough financial decisions and can’t always tackle every project you need to tackle, when you want to tackle it.
Then two programs surfaced that changed the game for Beets Hospitality Group, enabling them to speed up the process without the pain of a huge capital investment. And the best part of this story — if you are a Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) customer, you can do it, too.
Here’s a look at how Beets Hospitality Group managed to make the upgrades they needed, without financial burden.
First, PG&E conducted a no-cost energy assessment.
As a PG&E customer, Beets Hospitality Group started by taking advantage of the utility company’s no-cost energy assessment that finds and prioritizes ways for businesses to save energy and costs. The assessment provides practical ideas and tips, from updating or retrofitting equipment, to shifting energy use to off-peak hours, to tapping renewable energy sources. It was the perfect first step for Beets Hospitality Group in their journey to energy efficiency.
Then, Beets Hospitality Group took advantage of PG&E’s 0% financing program.
PG&E’s Energy Efficiency Financing program was a perfect fit for Beets Hospitality Group. Here are some of the terms of this program that made the necessary upgrades financially feasible:
- Financing from $5,000 to $100,000 of project cost, after incentives.
- Loan terms up to five years.
- 0% interest financing.
- No minimum credit requirements.
- Loan repayment is captured in the monthly energy bill and is based on the projected energy savings of the upgrade.
And finally, Beets Hospitality Group received rebates on the energy-efficient products they purchased.
Before they kicked off their HVAC upgrade project, Beets Hospitality Group was certain to select products that qualified for a rebate. Then, submitting a simple rebate application enabled them to get cash back for their business. Combined with PG&E’s 0% financing program, the initial cost of their brand-new equipment was reduced significantly, allowing them to make more sustainable changes at a much faster pace.
The result was an upgraded energy-efficient HVAC system that saved Beets Hospitality group time and money, improved air quality and temperature, and increased customer comfort and satisfaction.
Keep in mind, you don’t need to be in the market for an HVAC upgrade to take advantage of PG&E’s programs. As a customer, you can take advantage of any of the approved rebates — from lighting, to kitchen equipment, to laundry equipment and more.
